Format visual titles and subtitles in Insights

In Insights, you can format visual titles and subtitles to meet your business needs. Use rich text formatting, and insert hyperlinks to customize titles. Edit titles or subtitles in the Format visual pane, or double-click the title or subtitle directly in the visual to make changes.

Prerequisites

  • You have the Insights Author license.

  • You have the Create Content permission.

  • You have the View Content permission.
  • You have at least one of these permissions:

    • View Analytics Data
    • View Classic WFM Data
    • View QM Data
    • View WFM Data
  • You have added a visual to an analysis. See Add visuals to Insights analyses for instructions.

Procedures

Show or hide visual titles and subtitles

Use the following steps to show or hide the title or subtitle for a visual. Visual titles appear by default. Subtitles appear automatically once added.

  1. To show or hide the title or subtitle, click the eye icon next to Edit title or Edit subtitle.

Add alt text to a visual

  1. (Optional) Enter Alt text to describe the visual.

Edit visual titles or subtitles

  1. In the Display Settings drop-down, under Card title click the pencil icon next to Edit title or Edit subtitle.

  2. In the Edit title or Edit subtitle window:

    • Enter your custom title or subtitle text. Titles can be up to 120 characters long, and subtitles can be up to 500 characters long.

    • From the left drop-down list, select a font type.

    • From the right drop-down list, select a font size.

    • Use the formatting icons to:

      • Make text bold, italic, underline, or strikethrough icons.

    • Change the text color using the Abc icon. Select from the palette, or enter a HEX or RGB value.

    • Create a bulleted list using the unordered list icon.

    • Align your text using the left, center, or right alignment icons.

    • Use the link icon to insert a hyperlink.

      1. Highlight the text you want to hyperlink. Click the link icon.

      2. In the Enter link field, type or paste the URL you want to link to.

      3. (Optional) In the Display text field, update the visible text for the hyperlink.

      4. Select how the hyperlink opens:

        • Select New tab to open the link in a new tab.

        • Select Same tab to open the link in the current Insights tab.

      5. To remove the hyperlink, click the delete icon in the bottom-left corner.

      6. Click Save.

  3. Click Save. Your title or subtitle is now formatted and updated in the visual.
